Should I draw a diagram
To illustrate to him exactly who I am?
Plot each line and every curve;
Describe the function of every nerve,
So that he may grasp at last
my true intention?
Should I make a model of
A shapeless form and call it True Love?
Fix a firm and faraway gaze;
Take my bow and collect my praise,
While he marvels
at my invention?
Should I take a photograph
Of my face when I cry or laugh?
Record the movements of my thoughts,
As I devise my clever plots,
And ultimately disguise
my true intention?
