What a thing to kill a thing!

It’s such a thing to do!

Of all things worth considering,

It is among the final few.

         Everything that lives,

         Lives to live.

And everything that lives must surely die.

But I would never want to be

         The reason why.

What a thing to kill a thing!

What responsibility

Such a thing might bring

A murderer to be.

         Everything that lives

         Gives to life.

Everything takes something away.

But I hope I never have to

         Take a life away.
